Have you collected e-mail addresses and information to get out to customers, but are not sure how to go about it? I’ve compiled a list of e-mail newsletter ideas for you! Here are a few ideas to make your e-mail newsletter work for you!
Give your newsletter a friendly, warm tone. Customers are turned off by high-pressure sales tactics.
Know your demographic. If the majority of your customers are women with children, most likely they won’t be interested in information about motorcycles. Keep your content relevant to your audience.
Your newsletter should be fun to read. If it’s not, they will click unsubscribe before you know it!
Let customers know about deals, discounts, and specials. For example, if you are writing a newsletter for a hotel, e-mail customers with updated specials every week.
Provide helpful information, such as vacation tips if your business specializes in travel or baking tips, if your business specializes in baking.
Gather relevant links which you think your customers would like. For example, if your customers like to save money, provide links to other sites which offer money-saving advice.
Keep your newsletter a reasonable length. Customers do not want to scroll through a lot of information.
First feature what is most important for your customers to know. At the beginning of the newsletter, let them know of a contest or special deal just for them! This will get their attention and encourage them to keep reading.
Your newsletter should be in plain text. HTML newsletters look nice, but many e-mail programs do not work well with HTML.
To get more exposure for your business, partner with another company who will agree to feature your business in their newsletter, while you feature them in yours.
Encourage your customers to forward your newsletter to their family and friends. This is an easy way to obtain new customers.
