There are many insurance myths in the life insurance industry as well. Many people do not know the difference in whole and term life, or even the difference in term life vs term life. Not all term life policies have convertability or renewability clauses. These are very important, especially if you have a long term policy and have major health changes while covered under the term.

"But, keep in mind that if you’re young, you can buy a whole lot of life insurance, real cheap. And once you have it, you can keep renewing it." - I think this is an excellent point, and one that many people don't consider. Although younger people might not need life insurance, it will be much more affordable at a younger age. If you're at an age where marriage or children is a serious possibility, then you might want to consider just buying the life insurance policy now, and you'll know it's there when you need it.

Very useful post. Most people that make a statement that becomes one of the myths we later on figure out base it off of a relative situation with themselves. With life insurance, mainly everything works its way out by what the current buyer needs and wants to handle. It is important though to understand the benefits of the types of life insurance so that you are basically not wasting or throwing away money when you do not need to be.
