If you can sell yourself and also show your experience through past work (i.e. website design) then clients are more confident about your skills and are more likely to hire you. This is especially important when you have all your bases covered, possibly have your own website, business card, binder (to input all business related info), a nice suit, and a great smile. keep your bases covered, and sell yourself with a patient yet positive attitude, usually wins the ticket.
