I agree with Kingsley Tagpo, or maybe join a company with a proven system that only requires good communication skills and computer literacy.

As the article says the job market is lousy. Finding a job is difficult and unemployment is likely to remain high. So starting a company is not a bad idea at all.

Kingsley has a great point about free-lancing in your select market. But let's think guys, most jobs are dictated by your skill set and your level of confidence. If you can sell yourself and also show your experience through past work (i.e. website design) then clients are more confident about your skills and are more likely to hire you.

This is especially important when you have all your bases covered, possibly have your own website, business card, binder (to input all business related info), a nice suit, and a great smile.

keep your bases covered, and sell yourself with a patient yet positive attitude, usually wins the ticket.

If you don't want to go through the trouble of starting a company, you could simply brand yourself as a freelance "insert career here" and obtain freelance work through networking or websites like odesk.com.
